Stuff the Santa costume with Styrofoam as opposed to straw. The Styrofoam can be gotten at your local packing supplies store or post office. This can be messy, so make sure that you do this part outside.

Once the costume is sufficiently stuffed, sew or tie the ends of the hands and feet. As for the head, take a pillowcase and stuff it with some more Styrofoam. You can make the head appear round by pulling the corners of the pillowcase to the center of the back of the head and pinning them.

Finally, place the hat and beard (or the mask) on the figure, add some boots, and you have a Santa! Use twine to secure Santa to the back of the tree-make him look like he's peeking through the branches. The result is a fun and realistic-looking yard decoration scene!
